The Virginia Dept. of Housing and Community Development has funded the broadband planning effort. Ms. Monica Poole is the DHCD representative. Additional support is provided by the Roanoke Vally-Alleghany Regional Commission.

What local governments are involved?
Alleghany County, the City of Covington, the town of Clifton Forge, and the town of Iron Gate are participating.

Will the government begin selling Internet and phone service to us?

We rarely recommend that governments get directly involved in selling or reselling telecom services to residents and businesses. That is best left to the private sector.

Who is allowed to attend the planning meetings?
